Closing out the Year

So here it is, Tuesday already. The snow has gone and the rain has settled in. The dogs and I are back to relatively normal. Between the rain showers we get in the 4 walks/day they are accustomed to.

I'm up early due to insomnia. I guess I'm thinking about the kitchen remodel in the spring. Saw some exciting European Kitchen Designs yesterday and my mind is racing with ideas. I am definitely leaning toward a non traditional kitchen.

Bought some Lion Jiffy Yarn in a soft brown to make Max a new sweater. Might make a matching hat and mittens for myself.

If it is clear tonight you could see me head out for some more night shots.

White Christmas

It was indeed a White Christmas this year. If it weren't for the snow piled everywhere interfering with traffic it would be perfect on this Boxing Day.
Yesterday I celebrated with Latkes for breakfast, Pasta Fagioli for lunch and roast lamb for my dinner.
Max spent part of the day with his good friend Rosie and Minnie and I hung out watching Hallmark Movies the entire day. The dogs got Chicken Jerky Sticks and Edible Chew Bones in their stocking and I am quite happy with my treasures here and still to come.
Today is a day for purging the excess, eating leftovers and getting back to the never ending household organization chores that plague me.

Christmas Eve

The Christmas tree is up and decorated. Christmas Eve dinner was a Homemade Pasta Fagioli (fantastico). There is a warm rain tonight which could bring an end to the snow of the past week. No Yule Log burning in the fireplace but all is well in Vancouver, Washington on this bright night of hope and cheer. Best wishes to all for a Merry Christmas.

Messenger

On last night's Dog Walk we stumbled upon this masterful Angel left by a neighbor's child. It quickly became an Art Piece added to the Portfolio.

The Passionate Photographer's Network

Maxwell Squeak, Blog Manager

Not to be outdone, let me introduce to you the Supervisor of this process. Max lies on the Bed/Bench behind the office chair, commenting on all blog drafts. Ever ready for a treat or a dog walk he observes the world quietly from his comfortable perch on the down pillow.

Max is a 3 year old (in February 2009) Dappled Dachshund. Very emotive and vocal and outgoing with all but strange dogs.

In addition to his Management duties Max models hand knit dogwear and poses for Pets in Clothing Greeting Cards.

Merry Christmas from the Schnauzer

Minerva Athena just has NOT gotten into the Spirit of Christmas. The house is drafty and there's all that white, cold stuff outside. I've been reading the dogs some Dickens and Min has taken a liking to Scrooge. She 'knows' where he is coming from.

With the inclement weather this year we have made no special plans, but the Christmas preparations are nearly done (2 days to go)...

A Week or Two Ago

Photo as modified by PJ

Willa and I were out on what we call our Family Dog Walk. The weather was pretty nice for November and we were all pretty relaxed. Along came Alice Thelma who took this great photo. Wonder if I should use it for Christmas Cards?

It's Cold here in Vancouver

What has happened to the Herb Garden?

Even though we slept in until 9 a.m. it was much too cold and strange for us this morning. As we walked outside to do our business, the 1/4 inch of ice cracked under our paws. Never saw anything like this before. Minnie soon found a spot to relieve the pressure but Max 'knew better' and just turned back for the front door. After a breakfast of warm kibble things will naturally adjust.
